State Troopers association endorses state Rep. Hugh D. Shine for re-election

This week, the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association announced that it is endorsing incumbent state Rep. Hugh D. Shine in his re-election for House District 55.

Hugh Shine, who has represented HD 55 in Bell County since 2017, thanked the association for its support, as well as applauding law enforcement across the state for working so hard to keep communities safe.

"I am honored to be endorsed by the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association," Shine said in a statement following the announcement. "While radicals are attempting to make law enforcement the enemy, I will continue to support all of our law enforcement across the state so they may protect and serve our communities."

In a letter announcing the endorsement, DPSOA PAC president Richard Jankovsky III said the organization is committed to assisting Rep. Shine in his campaign, adding "We appreciate your distinguished service and support for law enforcement."

DPSOA-PAC works to advocate on behalf of Troopers, Agents, Rangers, Officers, Communications Personnel and Forensic Scientists of the Texas Department of Public Safety. DPSOA is one of the largest organizations representing commissioned law enforcement officers in Texas and includes approximately 4,700 men and women who daily pledge their lives to protect Texans across the state.
